   True, i have also noticed this trend, people and companies working in RoR might be less today in India but everyday new folks and startups keep adding to the pool

   Good to see 2 of my past employers[10/11] on the list

   Might come in handy as a reference list of companies to pass on, though i don’t have anything to do with RoR. You could keep this post updated with new companies.

     I thinks this thing will take some time. But If you see the startup scenario in India, things are getting better. A lot of startup are booming, and all these startup uses such technologies.
     So I am very bullish that things will get better.

   Well Yes, I did similar kind of research some time back. to find out rockstar teams in India, as capable as companies like mocra, hashrocket , pivotallabs… I was disappointed .. there arent any in India yet.. But I am really optimistic that one or many among this list will make the mark in course of time.

    if you want to get good job opportunity then go to Java or .Net
    odn’t go for ror
    big indian companies never work in ror
    only very small companies can work in ror for their small project

    ror is not suitable for big projects

      Hi Harish,
      Thats great that you are working in ROR. In my opinion every language is great, you just have to master it.
      It might be true that ROR, won’t be as widely used as Java, but I am also sure that there will be fairly decent market for ROR as well. There will be companies those will be using ROR for their websites.

    hey all ROR gurus.. i am a fresher still in my last sem of BE (IT) ..

    now seeing the saturation in the area of .net and java..
    i was doing a survey of job opportunities in india as well as a good training center for ROR…

    the questions arising in my mind are..

    1) will it be a bright future ahead if i take my career with ROR?
    2)are jobs available in india for ROR?
    3)are the companies good?
    4)are their proper training institutes in pune or anywhere else in maharashtra ?(i’m prefering pune because after readin this blog i feel like pune is the best place for me )

    i am quite confused about my career.

    can you please solve my problems..!!

    1) Yes…the future is very bright for Ruby on Rails. The companies are certainly shifting from traditional app dev tools to lightening fast app dev tools.
    2)Certainly yes..check indeed.co.in
    3)Absolutely..after the release of Ror enterprise v3.0 ..many level 5 companies are showing an interest.You would be one of the few core member teams in these companies.

    Currently i have 3.8 years experience .
    3 yrs – ror and rest on other. but java i had only basic knowledge not worked on any project till date.
    I was trying to change company . My thinking is do i need to learn java more ?
    the more experience need multiple skills .
